Document Preview
Document Preview enables users to see what is inside a file. It can be launched from many places in the Portal. The previewer supports many file formats.
When to use Document Preview
Use Document Preview when you want to open a file to inspect its contents, or when you want to access document actions directly from the preview window.
What you can do in Document Preview
- Refresh the preview window
- Open the Document Details dialog
- Download the main file
- Open the Attachments dialog
- Open the document in Office Online for editing
- Search within the document text
- Open the sidebar for annotations, notes, and tags
Preview toolbar

'Document Preview' horizontal toolbar
All the icons included in the toolbar reflect features that can be applied to the opened preview document.

![]() | Activates translation of text (if enabled). |
| Search | Enables users to search for words/phrases within the document’s text. |
