Notifications
Docwize has two related areas for notifications:
- The Notifications panel — where you view incoming notifications, accessible from the bell icon in the left-hand sidebar.
- Notification preferences — where you control how and when you receive notifications, configured in Settings.
The Notifications panel
Click the bell icon near the bottom of the left-hand sidebar to open the Notifications panel.
Example: the History tab showing past notifications. Your notifications will vary.
The panel has two tabs:
| Tab | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Unread | Notifications that have not yet been read. Shows "No unread notifications." when the queue is clear. |
| History | All past notifications in reverse chronological order, including those already read. |
Each notification shows:
| Element | Description |
|---|---|
| Category | The type of notification — for example, Policy updates. |
| Timestamp | The date and time the notification was sent. |
| Heading | A bold summary of the notification content. |
| Body | The full notification message, which may include links to relevant documents or resources. |
Download progress also appears in the Notifications panel when a download is running.
Notification preferences
To configure how you receive notifications, click your user initial at the bottom of the left-hand sidebar, select Settings, then select Notifications.

| Setting | Description |
|---|---|
| Enable notifications | Turns notifications on or off. When unchecked, no notifications are generated. |
| In-app notifications | When checked, notifications appear in the Notifications panel within Docwize. |
| Email notifications | When checked, notifications are also sent to the user's email address. |
| Frequency | Controls how often email notifications are sent. Options: Immediate, Hourly, Daily, Weekly. |
Click Save Notifications to apply changes. Settings are saved per user and synced via your organisation workspace.
note
If Enable notifications is unchecked, the In-app notifications and Email notifications settings have no effect.
