Notes

In Docwize, users can add notes while viewing a document. Notes can be shared or private. A shared note is visible to other users who have access to the document, while a private note is visible only to the user who made the note.

What you can do in Notes

  • Open the Notes tab from the preview sidebar
  • Choose whether to create a private or shared note
  • Write a formatted note in the Docwize Notepad and save it against the document
  • Edit or delete a note

Notes Features

Navigates to the Notes tab of the preview sidebar, listing existing notes on the document.

Add private note — the note will be visible only to the user who made it.
Add shared note — the note will be visible to other users who have access to the document.

Selecting either option opens the Docwize Notepad — a separate window with a rich text editor (bold, italic, underline, strikethrough, subscript/superscript, links, alignment, indenting).

FieldDescription
Note bodyThe formatted text of the note.
PrivateChecked by default when opened via Add private note; unchecked when opened via Add shared note.
Add to current pageWhen checked, scopes the note to the page of the document currently open in preview, rather than the whole document.
Save (bottom-right icon)Saves the note. It appears as a card in the Notes tab, showing the author and date.

How to add a note

1Navigate to the Notes tab of the preview sidebar.
2Click the Note actions button, then select Add shared note or Add private note.
3Type the note in the Docwize Notepad window that opens.
4Click Save.

Each saved note appears as a card in the Notes tab, showing who added it and when. The menu on a note card offers:
