Floating Toolbar

Overview

The floating toolbar is a multi-functional feature that users can move around their screen by clicking and dragging on the handlebars (dots). It is accessible on any module’s page in Docwize. Access to functions available in the Floating Toolbar are managed in the Admin Console.

Accesses notifications.
Accesses the Docwize AI Docwize AI chat function.
Accesses Jinja code shortcuts.
Accesses Buckets (see below for details), where users create buckets to collect, store and share documents with others.
(Varies)Accesses items (dataviews, buckets, records, etc.) that have been pinned (see below for details) to the floating toolbar for convenient access.

'Buckets' Dialog

Docwize buckets can be created by users for 'dumping' documents, which can be shared with other users or groups. This feature is located in the floating toolbar.

Add BucketUsers can click here to create a new bucket.
Filter by OwnerEnables users to filter through listed buckets by the owner, or creator, of the bucket.
Filter by NameEnables users to filter through listed buckets by the name of the bucket.
Enables users to pin the specific bucket to the floating toolbar.
Enables users to share the bucket with other Docwize users/groups.
Enables users to view the content of the bucket, or to add content.
Enables users to delete the bucket.

How to Create and Share a Bucket

1Navigate to the 'Bucket' icon in the floating toolbar. Click on ‘Add Bucket’ and input a bucket name and description.
2Click ‘Save’.
3Optional: pin the bucket to the floating toolbar for easy access.
4Optional: share you bucket with specific Docwize users and/or groups.

Pinning Function

Docwize allows users to pin items, such as buckets, records and dataviews, to the floating toolbar. This is convenient for users who frequently access the same items when using Docwize.

Overview: Pinning Function

  • The ‘pin’ icon indicates that an item can be pinned.
  • An item is pinned to the floating toolbar by clicking on the ‘pin’ icon.
  • Users can ‘right-click’ on the name of a dataview and select ‘Add Shortcut’ to pin the dataview to the floating toolbar.
  • Once pinned, users can customize the icon of the pinned item for easy identification by ‘right-clicking’ on the pinned item and selecting the ‘edit’ icon.
  • Items can be ‘unpinned’ by ‘right-clicking’ on the pinned item and selecting the ‘x’ icon.
