3D Model Review
Docwize supports reviewing 3D models in the document preview. Users can navigate around the model, and add Model Notes — comments pinned to an exact point on the model. Unlike a regular note, which is attached to the document as a whole, a model note links to the model element at the point where it was pinned.
Navigating the model
When previewing a 3D model, a toolbar appears in the preview window for navigating and inspecting it. Getting comfortable moving around the model here makes it easier to find the right spot to pin a note.

| Orbit | Rotates the view around the model. This is the default navigation tool. |
| Pan | Drags the view without rotating it. |
| Zoom | Zooms the view in or out. |
| Walk | Navigates through the model in first-person view. |
| Camera | Opens a submenu with Fit to View, Field of View, and Roll. |
| Section Analysis | Slices the model along an X, Y, or Z plane, or with a box region, to see inside it. |
| Measure | Measures distance, angle, or a location on the model. |
| Explode | Drags a slider to separate the model's parts for a clearer view of how they fit together. |
| Model Structure | Opens the model tree, listing the model's elements with visibility toggles and search. |
| Properties | Shows the properties of the selected model element. |
| Settings | Opens the viewer's configuration, navigation, and appearance settings. |
| Fullscreen | Expands the model preview to fill the screen. |
What users can do in Model Notes
- Open the Model Notes panel from the model preview
- Pin a note to any point on the model
- Give a note a title, description, and status
- View, edit, or delete their own notes
- Collapse the panel to a small icon and reopen it

Each pin on the model corresponds to a note in the list below. Clicking either a pin or its matching note in the list opens that note.

| Pin | Marks the exact point on the model where a note was added. |
| Add model note | Starts the process of pinning a new note to the model. |
| Note card | Shows the note's title, description, status, and the model element it is linked to, alongside who added it and when. |
| Collapse (›) | Shrinks the panel to a small floating icon showing the note count. Clicking it again reopens the panel. |
Model Notes fields

| Description | The body text of the note, up to 10,000 characters. |
| Status | Open, In progress, or Resolved. |
How to add a model note
| Step | Description |
|---|---|
| 1 | In the model preview, click Add model note. |
| 2 | Click the point on the model where the note belongs. Use the navigation toolbar to get a clear view first, if needed. |
| 3 | Enter a Title and Description, and choose a Status. |
| 4 | Click Save. |

Editing and deleting a model note
Only the user who added a model note can edit its title, description, or status, or delete it. A model note added by someone else opens in read-only mode.
