Custom Fields
The Custom Fields section in Document Details displays the custom field templates associated with the document. Custom fields capture additional metadata beyond the standard document fields — for example, invoice line items, CV details, or procurement data. The templates and fields shown depend on what has been configured for the database.

What users can do in Custom Fields
- View and edit custom field data associated with the document
- Add rows to grid-type custom fields
- Link rows in gridlink-type custom fields
- Review audit history for individual custom field templates
The Custom Fields section
Custom Fields section in Document Details
The Custom Fields section is located in Document Details, below the Additional Information section. It lists all custom field templates attached to the document. Each template is collapsible and includes a View Audit History button to review a log of changes made to that template's data.
Custom field template types
There are three types of custom field templates:
| Type | Description |

| Form | A set of labelled input fields for capturing structured data, such as dates, reference numbers, amounts, or text. Required fields are highlighted. |
| Grid | A table of rows and columns for capturing multiple entries of a structured type, such as invoice line items. Rows can be added using the 'Add Row' button. |
| Grid Link | A linked grid that connects to an existing data source. Rows are linked using the 'Link Rows' button rather than added manually. |
Grid controls
Grid and Grid Link sections include the following controls:

| Add Row | Adds a new empty row to the grid for data entry. (Grid sections only.) |
| Link Rows | Opens a dialog to link rows from an existing data source. (Grid Link sections only.) |
| Toggle Density | Adjusts the row height of the grid display. |
| Search | Filters the grid rows by a search term. |
| Row Count | Shows the total number of rows in the grid. |
